Beginner's Guide to Syncing Your Project with the Cosmos

For those few in life that know me, you know that I am an astrology nerd and while some people may think astrology is absolutely bullshit, I think there is some truth to it. Now don’t get me wrong, I think astrology apps that tell you to avoid wearing the color blue today because it doesn’t align with what degree your fifth house is in IS ACTUALLY bullshit.

Instead of getting lost in the nitty gritty details of astrology, I try to step back and look at the broader picture. What phase is the moon in? What Sun Sign are we in at this moment? Is Mercury in Retrograde again? I believe that there are some distinct times in our cosmic calendar that can help important business projects and decisions reach their optimum fruition with the proper calendar placement.

Now, if you’re looking to really get into the cosmos, I suggest downloading an astrology app that meets your fancy and is at your knowledge level. There are oodles of astrology apps to download considering it’s #trending. Try to avoid Googling astrology info. I have noticed that big name companies have started to release their own testimonials since the market has increased for spirituality and astrology in general and these articles are completely washed down and have lost a sacred touch that I personally believe belongs in spirituality. How the hell are you going to trust the cosmos if you don’t at least believe in some type of Source? Anyways...that’s another post for another time.

If you want to start setting the proper intentions today with your business, then I would start with the simplest cosmic body to follow: the Moon. The best time to start a project in accordance with our moon is of course by starting with the New Moon. The New Moon sets a great time to go inward and plan for the month ahead. It is the time of gentle ideas flowing toward you. It is a time of darkness and slow movement. Sometimes we want things to happen right now but the moon teaches us that there is a phase for each moment, each step, and with patience we can come to a place of abundance which manifests in the Full Moon.

Before we hurry to that though, let’s talk about the midway point which is the First Quarter Moon. It takes about a week and a half from the New Moon for the First Quarter Moon to appear. At this time, I often find myself tilting my eyes toward the sky and reflecting on my current projects and intentions that I set. I ask myself how they’re coming along and whether or not I am giving them the attention they need. If not, then it’s time to use the swirling energy that is coming up with the Full Moon.

I am telling you right now that when you start living mindfully by the lunar phases you will see that people really do start acting extra crazy during the Full Moon. This is a great time to see what aspects of your project or business are manifesting and what ones are not manifesting. While the Full Moon is filled with cosmic energy it is also a beautiful time to set intentions on what you need to release with it. The Full Moon often illuminates the things in our life that are no longer serving us and it can sometimes be quite overwhelming. Sit down and ask yourself if the project is going the way you had foreseen or if it’s time to take a new approach.

The end result of your project should start to reveal itself in the Last Quarter Moon and the Waning Moon. This is where the lunar phases come to a close and your projects should be either finding a finishing place or a moment of pause. Take a step back and acknowledge the work that you’ve put into your business. Show gratitude to the cosmos for aiding you in your journey by sitting in silence for a moment.

I’m not saying that I live by this idea 100% of the time, sometimes I am ready to jump into whatever the hell I am doing, but I have found that setting projects by the lunar phases allows me to work with more intention and adds a spiritual aspect that provides more meaning to what I am doing.
